Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous has a Rotary Community Corps (RCC) at Alfadanga since 2018. The club has been implemented number of service projects since its formation. On July 28, 2023 RCD Luminous has distribute 50 Sewing Machines as part of its “Project Transform”. Project Transform is a continuous project of the club which aims to transform lives through Vocational Development. In order to implement the project, members of club visited Togorband Union, a remote place of Alfadanga upozila in Faridpur. RCD Luminous implemented the project by partnering with its RCC Alfadanga and Kanchan Munshi Foundation, a non-profitable organization run by the local public representative.

Dhaka Luminous believe that vocational development can change a persons life. Members of RCC Alfadanga have identified that there are several persons in the village who are skilled at sewing and making tailored dress but can not afford a sewing machine. Providing a sewing machine can greatly transform their lives by enabling them to be self-employed and making them as earning member of their family. Because of this reason, the club has decided to provide sewing machines to 50 poor and needy women to help them build their economic development.

The sewing machines were distributed in a big public gathering at a school field of Kamargram Kanchan Academy. Approximately 1,500 people including social and political leader gathered during the distribution program. Charter President of the club, Mr Kazi Saiful Hoque MD briefed the crowed about the role of Rotary and our involvement in the service to society. His words inspired local leaders and affluent persons to contribute more to the society. The audience applauded on his speech and the CP also assured to be with them in future projects.

Monjurul Karim, president of the club, during his speech emphasized  on vocational development for social and economic development and poverty eradication. He also urged local representatives to extend their help for vocational development.

Local representative and the Chairman of Kanchan Munshi Foundation Mr Arifur Rahman Dolon supported the club wholeheartedly to make this event successful. Implementation cost of this project was BDT 300,000 which has been contributed jointly by RCD Luminous and Kanchan Munshi Foundation. Media partner of the event was The Daily Dhaka Times.

During the project ceremony and distribution program members of the club were present including CP Mr Kazi Saiful Hoque, PP Mr Abdur Rahim, PP Hadi Mizan Al Hossain, President (2023-24) Mr Monjurul Karim, Secretary (2023-24) Mr Bhaskar Ranjan Saha, PE Mr Al Amin Redwanur Rahman and Sergeant At Arms Mr Kazi Kawsar. Besides, the HR Director of Daily Dhaka Times Mr Nayeem Ali, ex-UP Chairman Imam Hasan was also present during this Sewing Machine Distribution project.
