Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous held its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 20th December, 2022 at Hotel Bengal Canary Park, Gulahan-1, Dhaka. Meeting was held during 7.00 PM to 8.30 PM.
Rtn. Mohammad Abdullah, the club president has been elected as Chairman of the meeting. Being the quorum present, Chairman of the meeting called the meeting to order. He welcomed all the members present at the meeting. Meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran by PP Rtn. Hadi Mizan Al Hossain PHF. Club Secretary Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF recited the rotary invocation.
In the first Agenda, Chairman of the meeting invited Rtn. Golam Sarwar Farouqi to present the Financial Statements of the Club for the year ended 30 June 2022. In absence of Rtn. Farouqi, Club Secretary Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF presented the financial statements to the members present. Thereafter there was detailed discussion on the financial statements and the financial statements was approved in the AGM.
On the second Agenda, Chairman of the meeting called for Election of President for Rotary Year 2024-25. CP Rtn. Kazi Saiful Hoque PHF B MD was proposed as Election Commissioner by the chairman and was seconded by PP Rtn. Hadi Mizan Al Hossain PHF. Chairman invited the Election Commissioner to conduct the election and voting process.
Election Commissioner thanked members present for selecting him for Election commissioner and explained to them regarding importance of election and selection of leadership in rotary. He then invited self-nomination from the members. There being no self nomination, Election commissioner invited members to nominate others. Thereafter, Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF was nominated as Rotary Club President for Rotary Year 2024-25. All the members supported the nomination and unanimously elected to Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF as Rotary Club President for Rotary Year 2024-25 i.e. President Nominee. Election commissioner than thanked all the members for participating in the election process and congratulated President Nominee before handing over the floor to the chairman of the meeting. Chairman also congratulated the President Nominee.
On to the next agenda, Chairman invited any other business to be discussed. PE Rtn. Mohammad Monjurul Karim informed the members present that he needs to form his board for rotary year 2023-24. After much discussion, Rtn. Bhashkar Ranjan Saha as Secretary and Rtn. Israt Naznin Rinky as Treasurer for RY2023-24. It was decided that rest of the board members will be selected in next board meeting.
There being no other business, meeting was adjourned.
During the meeting Club President Rtn. M Abdullah, Club Secretary Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF, CP Rtn. Kazi Saiful Hoque PHF B MD, PP Rtn. Md. Abdur Rahim PHF, PE Rtn. Mohammad Monjurul Karim, Rtn. Bhashkar Ranjan Saha, Rtn. S.M. Matin, PP Rtn. Hadi Mizan Al Hossain PHF and PP Rtn. Mohammed Shohidul Hoque were present in the AGM.
