February 21, 2024 is obviously a memorable day as the Mother Language Day all over the world. But this year it was also a memorable day for the members of RC Dhaka Luminous with some added flavors. It was an amazing day out program on the river Buriganga while going to Chandpur via Marine Vessel Bogdadia 7.
President Elect (2024-25) Rotarian Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF invited the members of RC Dhaka Luminous to visit his village home at Chandpur. The 7th Board Meeting was also held onboard this vessel while coming back from Chandpur to Dhaka.
Our President Rotarian Mohammad Monjurul Karim PHF along with CP Rotarian Kazi Saiful Hoque MD, PP Mushfiqur Rahman PHF, PP Hadi Mizan Al Hossain PHF, Club Secretary and PN (2025-26) Rotarian Bhaskar Ranjan Saha PHF, Rotarian Edmadul Hoque Shameem PHF, Rotarian Razib Ahmed, Rotarian Muniruzzaman and off course the host Rotarian Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF were the participants in this tour. We started at 08:30 am from Sadar Ghat and reached at Chandpur after 3 hours of ha ha, hee hee journey. After reaching at Rtn Redwan’s village home we were greeted by coconut drink. His father was such a gentleman, he took us out to see the surrounding areas, green lashes, the ponds etc. The lunch time was full of surprises. There were so much to eat! Well, we expected Hilsha no doubt, as we went to the Hilsha capital but not so many types and verities of fishes! Different types of vegetables, Chicken, lintels and what not. The river cruise made us hungry but the food was more than we could intake. Last but not the least was sweets and curds.
We again started off in the afternoon and reached Dhaka at 9 o’clock. On the board, we took the opportunity to conduct our monthly board meeting! That was another amazing experience. Meeting on a marine vessel was unique. Tea, Coffee, bananas, oranges and boiled eggs were the few accessories we had onboard. We, the participants will surely remember this day for long.
