Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous held its 187th General Meeting on 2nd October, 2022 at Hotel Bengal Canary Part at Gulshan-1, Dhaka. Meeting was held during 7.30 PM to 8.30 PM. Rtn. Mohammad Abdullah, the club president conducted the meeting. He welcomed all the members and guest present at the meeting.
Meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran by PP Rtn. Abdur Rahim PHF. Club Secretary Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF recited the rotary invocation. Thereafter, President informed the members about communication received from Rotary International, Rotary District, other rotary clubs and Rotarians. President also greeted members and their spouses for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.
Dr. Niaz Abdur Rahman PHF B MD from Rotary Club of Dhaka attended the meeting. President of the club welcomed the visiting Rotarian on behalf of the club members.
During the meeting President and members present and discussed on proposals on various project proposals. basic education projects. Club president provided and update on basic education program proposal and after discussion it was decided that the proposal will be forwarded to service committee and placed in the next board meeting.
During open discussion, it was decided that RCD Luminous will resume its eye care camps and school furniture distribution projects which was halted due to covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Niaz, being an eye specialist, has contributed to the discussion and informed the members about latest update on eye care and his organizations, Dhaka Eye Hospital, CSR activities on eye sight. After discussion among members, it was decided that a proposal will be placed to service committee as well as board to work with Dhaka Eye Hospital in addition with existing service partner Prime Bank Eye Hospital.
Meet was adjourned after sharing club statistics and secretarial announcement for 188th General Meeting which will be held on 16th October 2022 at Hotel Bengal Canary Part at Gulshan-1, Dhaka. Meeting was held during 7.30 PM to 8.30 PM.
