Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous held its 228 general meeting on 11th August 2024. The meeting took place at Chef’s Table, Unimart, Gulshan-1, Dhaka during 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Club President Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF chaired the meeting.
The meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran by past president Rtn. Mohammed Abdullah PHF. Rtn. Rajib Ahmed led the rotary invocation and Club Secretary Rtn. Kazi Kawser Sweet announced members’ anniversaries and special events upon President’s request. Thereafter Club president welcomed and thanked everyone for joining the 228th general meeting. There being no specific greetings message for the members and news from district, club president directly went to meeting agenda.
On the first agenda, president informed all the members presents that the club has received half yearly invoice from Rotary International which it need to pay within 31 August in order to be eligible for Rotary Excellence Award. President urged all the club members to clear their current and past dues based on the invoice already shared.
On second Agenda, The president introduced Mr. Faruque Ahmed who has expressed interest to become member of the club after attending few club meetings. Board have already approved decision to invite him to join as member of the club. Club President invited Mr. Faruque Ahmed to become a Rotarian and member of the club. Me. Ahmed accepted the invitation and made payment of the member fees. Rtn. Kazi Saiful Hoque PHF, B MD put on rotary pin on Mr. Faruque Ahmed in recognition of him become a Rotarian and member of the club. Rotarian Faruque Ahmed thanked everyone for accepting him as club member and expressed his intention to dedicate himself for rotary movement and rotary ideals.
After that meeting was open for discussion and fellowship. Club members discussed about various topics including current political changes. At the end of meeting, the club secretary presented the statistics of the meeting and declared time and venue of next meeting. Meeting ended after friendly dinner. In the meeting 12 of 21 members were present during the club meeting.
