In response to the devastating floods that recently impacted Bangladesh, the Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous has intensified its humanitarian efforts under the banner of Project Remission, focusing on providing essential support to affected communities.
Direct Financial Assistance to Akter Hossain
Recognizing the urgent need for shelter restoration, Dhaka Luminous donated BDT 40,000 to Mr. Akter Hossain, whose home was severely damaged during the floods. This contribution, generously provided by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Bangladesh Chapter, aims to assist Mr. Hossain in rebuilding his residence and restoring a sense of normalcy to his life.
Other Flood related efforts
Massive Food Relief
Beyond individual assistance, the club organized large-scale food distribution initiatives, providing meals to over 7,500 individuals affected by the floods. These efforts were part of a series of relief operations conducted in severely impacted areas, including Noakhali and Feni, where the club has been actively running relief projects.
Contribution to RIPSA’s Disaster Recovery Fund
Demonstrating a commitment to long-term recovery, Dhaka Luminous also contributed to the Rotary International President’s Special Assistance (RIPSA) disaster recovery fund. This fund is dedicated to supporting post-flood rehabilitation efforts, ensuring that affected communities receive the necessary resources to rebuild and recover.
