Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous held its 230th general meeting on 8th September 2024. The meeting took place at Chef’s Table, Unimart, Gulshan-1, Dhaka during 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Club President Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF chaired the meeting.
The meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran by past president Rtn. Hadi Mizan Al Hossain PHF. Rtn. Faruque Ahmed led the rotary invocation. Club president welcomed and thanked everyone for joining the 230th general meeting. There being no specific greetings message for the members and news from district, club president directly went to meeting agenda.
On the first agenda, president informed the from now on, club will allocate 15 minutes of the meeting time for the training and development of the members. In this meeting CP Rtn. Kazi Saiful Hoque PHF B MD has been invited to facilitate a session on “Blockchain Basics“. Rtn. Hoque explained to the members what is blockchain, how it differs from cryptocurrency and commercial application of blockchain. Members thanks president and the facilitators for the training session.
On second Agenda, The president informed the club members about club raised BDT 100,000 from members for flood projects. Of these amount BDT 20,000 has been donated to RIPSA’s team for D64 Events. BDT 40,000 has been handed off to Rtn. Mushfiqur Rahman PHF and rest BDT 40,000 has been handed to Rtn. Abdur Rahim PHF. Rtn. Mushfiq and Rtn. Abdur Rahim has been distributing food and assisted in rescue operation for the flood victims. With financial support from Dhaka Luminous, Rtn. Mushfiq and Rtn. Rahim has provided food support for more than 4,500 people. Dhaka luminous now plans to initiate and raise fund for rehabilitation projects. Also it plans to join hands with other rotary clubs and districts where service projects are aligned with Dhaka Luminous goals.
On to the next agenda, Club president informed members present that leaders from Interact club of Dhaka Chawkbazar have joined in the meeting. Their club has been looking for a sponsor. As Dhaka Luminous was also considering sponsoring an interact club, Luminous president has invited leaders of Dhaka Chawkbazar to attend the general meeting and introduce their club and its members. After formal introduction, leaders of IC Dhaka Chawkbazar expressed their interest to be sponsored by RC Dhaka Luminous. President of Dhaka Luminous has informed the them that the matter will be discussed club’s upcoming board meeting.
After that meeting was open for discussion and fellowship. Club members discussed about various topics. At the end of meeting, the club secretary presented the statistics of the meeting and declared time and venue of next meeting. Meeting ended after friendly dinner. In the meeting 14 of 21 members more 4 guest were present during the club meeting.
