Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous held its 229th general meeting on 25th August 2024. The meeting took place at Chef’s Table, Unimart, Gulshan-1, Dhaka during 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Club President Rtn. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF chaired the meeting.
The meeting started with recitation from Holy Quran by past president Rtn. Mushfiqur Rahman PHF. Rtn. Rajib Ahmed led the rotary invocation and Club Secretary Rtn. Kazi Kawser Sweet announced members’ anniversaries and special events upon President’s request. Thereafter Club president welcomed and thanked everyone for joining the 229th general meeting. There being no specific greetings message for the members and news from district, club president directly went to meeting agenda.
On the first agenda, president informed the country has been facing sudden flood which affecting people from Noakhali and Feni area. Flood affected people need immediate rescue and food support. Citizen of the country have came forward for the aid of affected people. Our club should also come forward. After several discussion, club members have agreed and raised a fund of BDT 100,000 for immediate food and rescue operation. Club members have also decided that they will raise further fund and raise donation for the rehabilitation of the affected people.
On second Agenda, The president requested members to clear their due membership fees. Later Club GSR joined the meeting with a guest. Club members were introduced to the guest.
After that meeting was open for discussion and fellowship. Club members discussed about various topics. At the end of meeting, the club secretary presented the statistics of the meeting and declared time and venue of next meeting. Meeting ended after friendly dinner. In the meeting 15 of 21 members were present during the club meeting.
