Rotary Club of Dhaka Luminous held its 226 general meeting on 23rd June 2024. The meeting was also the last meeting of the club for rotary year where presidential collar is handed over to next president. The meeting, which started at 7 PM, took place at IBA Alumni Club, Purbachal, Dhaka. Club President Rotarian Monjurul Karim chaired the meeting.
The meeting begin with Recitation from Holy books. After that the club president invited Rtn. Md Mushfiqur Rahman, past president of the club, to lead the rotary invocation. After the invocation, Club president welcomed and thanked everyone for joining the meeting. In the meeting Mr. Omar Farukh joined as a guest of Rtn. Kazi Saiful Hoque. Club members introduced themselves to the guest and Mr. Hoque introduced his guest to the club. There being no specific greetings message for the members and news from district, club president directly went to meeting agenda.
On his first agenda, club president informed members present that the ongoing meeting was the last meeting of the club under his tenure. He started his tenure as Club President on July 2023 and his first meeting was 204rd meeting. In his tenure, the club held total of 23 meetings. Club president also discussed various projects implemented and achievement earned during his tenure. He also thanks all the club and board members for extending cooperation. At the end of his speech, the president handed over the presidential collar to Mr. Al Amin Redwanur Rahman PHF, President for 2024-25 and wished well for his tenure.
The new president thanked his immediate past president Rtn. Monjurul Karim for the presidential collar and his successful tenure. He invited all of the member to attend the first meeting of rotary year 2024-25 on 7th July 2024 under his presidency. He also brief about his activity plan for next one year. The new president closed his speech by seeking everyone’s cooperation, prayer and well wishes.
At the end of the scheduled agenda, the club secretary presented the statistics of the meeting and informed everyone about the time and venue for the next meeting. Before concluding the meeting, the crest and flower bouquet were presented to new and past board members. Meeting ended with friendly dinner program.
In the meeting 15 of 21 members were present during the club meeting.
